Participation involves completing a secure online survey once for each child you have who is 2-15 years old. Bergamot Essential Oil for Anxiety: A Meta Analysis

Essential oil inhalation is frequently used to treat anxiety in multiple populations. While multiple clinical trials on this application exist in the scientific literature, findings often conflict. Effect sizes in these studies vary dramatically and some studies do not find that inhalation of bergamot essential oil for anxiety is effective. To address this issue, the Franklin Institute of Wellness research department conducted a meta-analysis on bergamot and anxiety. The Study "Bergamot Essential Oil for Anxiety: A Meta-Analysis" Methodology When there are not many large studies on a topic, or when studies on a topic begin to find conflicting results, a meta-analysis [...]

Aromatherapy for Preprocedural Anxiety Among Pediatric Patients w/ ASD

While essential oils have been found in the scientific literature to reduce preprocedural anxiety in patients when administered prior to a scheduled medical procedure, no study has evaluated essential oils for autism. The potential for these effects on preprocedural anxiety among pediatric autistic patients is uncertain due to the way in which autistic children experience sensory stimuli. Because children with autism spectrum disorders tend to be hypersensitive to sensory experiences, essential oils which have been found in the scientific literature to reduce anxiety may not be suitable. To evaluate the potential for suitability and efficacy of essential oils on preprocedural anxiety among [...]
