Join us for an afternoon of hands-on projects in the FIW lab, a seminar on prevention during the cold & flu season, and meet-and-greet with several of our course instructors at our Autumn Open House. Stop for just a few minutes to say hello or stay for the whole afternoon and participate in everything we have available.
In addition to the workshops and classes (listed below with available timeslots), we will also have herbal and essential oil-based treats available, essential oil cocktails, and information about our programs, classes, and workshops for you to browse. Everyone is welcome to join! There is no cost to attend. Just stop by–and bring a friend! (If you’d like to RSVP on our Facebook event page, click here.)
3:00 & 4:30pm: Essential Oil Project: Clear Breathing Essential Oil Roll-On
Join us in the lab for this hands-on project featuring the respiratory benefits of essential oils in a clear-breathing blend that can be applied topically for ages 2 and up. You will work with essential oils and carrier oils, producing a roll-on product you can use at home this winter.
3:30pm: Herbal Project: Elderberry Syrup
Elderberry syrup is a must-have for any healthy medicine chest, especially during the winter months when viral illnesses abound. Learn how to make a safe and effective elderberry syrup which rivals commercial products used in the scientific research. You will learn how to integrate other botanicals into the formula and produce your own bottle to take home.
4:00pm: Cold & Flu Seminar
Join us in the upstairs classroom for a lesson on cold & flu prevention, including myth busters on the expensive supplements that don’t actually help prevent or treat illness, and herb and oil overviews for effective options.
