Dr. Jessie Hawkins, Executive Director & Instructor: Jessie Hawkins holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Health, a Master’s Degree in Health Promotion, has additional post-graduate education in the field of epidemiology, and holds a PhD with a dissertation focus of clinical research in aromatherapy. In addition to holding numerous certifications in a range of natural health fields including aromatherapy, aromatic medicine, herbalism, childbirth education, labor support, and more, she travels regularly to conferences and workshops to ensure that our programs provide the most current and up-to-date information available.
Jessie has been an active professional in the fields of health promotion, botanical medicine, and aromatherapy for over ten years. During that time, she has written eight popular books on the subjects and has spoken to tens of thousands of individuals and families throughout the country through live and virtual events on the subject of environmental health through aromatherapy and botanicals.
Laura Debiasi, DNP, MPH, Instructor: Dr. Debiasi holds a Bachelor’s in Biomedical Engineering, a Bachelor’s in Nursing, a Master’s in Public Health, a Master’s in Nursing Practice, and a Doctorate of Nursing Practice. She holds licenses as a Registered Nurse and as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Her research publications include an emphasis on holistic health, ranging from projects to screen tools for assessing emotional wellbeing among children in Honduras orphanages to nutraceutical supplementation to support liver health. In addition to teaching at the Franklin Institute of Wellness, Laura has been a professor at the University of Alabama in Birmingham School of Nursing since 2012.
Christy Hires, Instructor: Christy Hires was one of the first graduates of the Franklin Institute of Wellness aromatherapy program and has continued her education through workshops and advanced practice classes in England. She teaches distance learning students in the aromatherapy program and on-site students in the ARO301 class, in addition to teaching during our international study tours. She manages an aromatherapy practice in Colorado where she consults with clients and teaches local workshops. In addition to her aromatherapy certification and continuing education, she has completed educational programs in herbalism and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Bible & Theology. She loves hiking and camping in the mountains near her Colorado home during the summer and snowshoeing those same mountains during the winter.
Sandra Mills, Instructor: Sandra holds a degree in Applied & Pharmaceutical Science from the Waterford Institute of Technology, a diploma in Beauty Therapy from the British Association of Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology, a Diploma in Aromatherapy from the Tara School of Integrative Therapy, and has completed advanced modules in Aromatology from the Penny Price Academy of Aromatherapy. She worked as an analytical chemist in Servier Ireland Industries before fully dedicating her career to integrative health. In addition to teaching at the Franklin Institute of Wellness, she maintains a professional practice in aromatherapy and complementary therapies in Southern Ireland.
Rachel Lilly, Registrar and Compliance Director: Rachel holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from Western Kentucky University and an MBA from Tennessee Tech. She oversees all of the legal compliance requirements to ensure that the Franklin Institute of Wellness maintains all records as required by our postsecondary authorization. She finalizes graduation requests, processes transcript needs, and ensures that all of the postsecondary authorization needs of the school are exceeded.
Elizabeth Dunne, Admissions Advisor: Elizabeth holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Family Nutrition from the University of Alabama and is currently completing her Master’s Degree in Nutrition Practice. She assists you with guidance during the pre-registration process and helps you choose the program, delivery option, and schedule that is right for you.
Colby Baker, Admissions Advisor: Colby holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Consumer Science, a Diploma in Culinary Arts with an emphasis in Baking and Pastry, and holds multiple continuing education credentials in holistic nutrition. She has also earned a Diploma in Dietary Supplement Science through the Franklin Institute of Wellness. She oversees all new applications, assists in the development of your study plan to ensure that you graduate on time, and maintains all of the admissions application requirements within your student file.
Lindsey Cherry, Office Assistant: Lindsey holds an Associate’s Degree in Nutrition Science and is pursuing her Bachelor’s from Middle Tennessee State University. She provides assistance in the Registrar’s office and technical support for distance-learning students from our main campus.
Carson Royster, Student Intern: Carson is pursuing a Diploma in Dietary Supplement Science through FIW and provides practical assistance to our instructors for our on-site programs, workshops, and classes. She also manages the FIW social media accounts and is the primary media contact for news organizations and journalists.
