Health Coaches are in High Demand

Health coaches are crucial experts in the field of public health. As a result of the shift in focus from a treatment model of care to a preventive model of care, the field of health promotion is rapidly growing. According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, overall employment of health promotion professionals is projected to grow a whopping 16% from 2016 to 2026, far more than the average for other professions.

Health coaches earn an average of $53,070 as of May, 2016, according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, and because health promotion professionals can produce dramatic reductions in healthcare costs, approximately 19,200 new jobs are expected to be created in this field between 2016 and 2026. Now is the perfect time to enter this rapidly growing and highly rewarding field as a leading expert on health promotion.

Health coaches work in a wide range of settings to positively impact health status. Many health coaches are employed full time in hospitals, governmental organizations, outpatient care centers, religious organizations, and worksites. Modern health coaches may also be entrepreneurs, working through blogging websites and social media to positively influence health. Work as a health coach is highly rewarding, with hands-on responsibilities which result in direct (and often dramatic) improvements to health status.
